Zurich-based peer Kaufmann Kapital has been acquired by Geneva-based asset manager AS Investment Management, for an undisclosed amount.

The deal already secured the go-ahead from the Swiss Financial Market Supervisory Authority FINMA.

Why is Kaufmann Kapital being acquired?

“By having offices in Geneva and Zurich, AS Investment reinforces its leading position in its segment,” AS Investment Management said in a statement.

Kaufmann Kapital owner Alexandre Kaufmann will become a partner at AS Investment Management as part of the deal.

The activities of the acquired entity will be gradually moved to AS Investment Management over 24 months.

Founded by Alexandre Stucki in 2006, AS Investment Management focuses on Swiss equities.

“The demands and the rigor of our analysis require us to be as close as possible to Swiss companies. The acquisition of Kaufmann Kapital in Zurich, with solid experience in the Swiss equity market, allows AS Investment Management to have a foothold in the two economic centres of the country and to offer the best possible service to our clients. I welcome this development, which confirms the consolidation of AS Investment Management’s asset management activities in the Swiss market,” Stucki stated.
