Julius Baer has named Alain Ucari as new CEO of its two entities in Monaco namely Bank Julius Baer (Monaco) S.A.M. and Julius Baer Wealth Management (Monaco) S.A.M, replacing Bruno Dumitrescu.

In his new role, Ucari will report to Remy Bersier, region head southern Europe, Middle East and Africa and member of the executive board.

Ucari joined Julius Baer from Credit Suisse Monaco where he served as CEO for over 12 years. He also served various senior management roles at Credit Suisse in Lebanon, the United Arab Emirates and in Switzerland.

Meantime, Dumitrescu will step down from his role to fully focus on acquiring and servicing key clients as senior relationship manager within the bank and vice-chairman of the wealth management unit in Monaco.

Dumitrescu will also report directly to Bersier in his new role. Dumitrescu joined Julius Baer during the acquisition of ING Bank (Switzerland) in 2010. Prior to this, he worked as commercial director at ABN-AMRO Bank in Monaco for seven years.

Bersier said: "With his solid experience, excellent reputation and vast network he is the best possible choice to further build on Julius Baer’s positioning in Monaco. Bruno and Alain will closely collaborate to ensure a smooth transition and to set the path for further growth in this key market."
