Swiss private banking group Julius Baer has strengthened its operations in Europe and Chile with multiple senior hires.

The new hires for Europe are Patrick Prinz and Ettore Bonsignore.

Prinz will serve as the market head for Germany and Austria, while Bonsignore will become market head for Italy.

Prinz most recently served as the head of family office services for Zurich and head of private wealth management for Germany at Banque Pictet & Cie.

Bonsignore most recently led the private banking division at PKB Privatbank Lugano. He previously also worked at Credit Suisse.

Prinz and Bonsignore will operate out of Zurich and Lugano, respectively. The pair will report to the head of Europe and member of the executive board Yves Robert-Charrue.

Robert-Charrue noted: “Germany and Italy are amongst the most attractive wealth management markets in Europe and therefore strategic core markets for Julius Baer.

“I am excited to add such high-profile bankers to my team, and am confident that with Patrick’s and Ettore’s long-standing expertise we will be able to accelerate our growth and further leverage our franchise internationally and domestically.”

Meanwhile, Julius Baer also hired five bankers, including three senior relationship managers and an investment adviser, to its Chile office.

The newly-hired employees are Sebastián Fernández, Jaime Ochagavía, Jaime Aviles, Sebastián Vives, and Santiago Navarrete.

The new hires will begin at Julius Baer on 1 October 2019.

Julius Baer head of Latin America Beatriz Sanchez said: “Julius Baer already has the largest local presence of any international wealth manager in Chile, and these appointments accelerate our growth momentum on the ground.”
