Franks joins JMP Securities, JMP Group’s broker-dealer subsidiary. He works from the firm’s San Francisco headquarters.
Prior to joining JMP Securities, Franks was an executive director leading the convertible capital markets effort at Oppenheimer & Co. He previously served as a director in the equity and equity-linked capital markets group at Piper Jaffray & Co. and in the convertible capital markets group at RBC Capital Markets.

In addition, Franks has held convertible securities and credit analysis roles at Thomas Weisel Partners and UBS Investment Bank.
JMP Securities director of investment banking Kent Ledbetter said Iain will have an immediate impact on JMP’s convertible capital markets effort. He has participated in structuring more than 80 equity, convertible and equity-linked securities transactions during his career and will enhance the convertible origination capabilities that have been in place at JMP since 2005.
