Janus Henderson Investors has appointed Charley Smith and Mark Weir to the new created roles of institutional sales directors in the UK.

In their new role, Smith and Weir will focus on business development and UK clients respectively.

Smith is joining Janus Henderson from Deutsche Bank Wealth Management where she spent three years as a client advisor.

Prior to that, she was associated with Morgan Stanley Private Wealth Management for seven years.

Weir is joining from Legal & General Investment Management, where he spent three years as a senior client relationship executive with responsibilities across £6bn of client assets.

Earlier, he worked as a senior equities portfolio analyst at State Street Global Advisors and Macquarie Bank in Sydney, Australia.
