Janney Montgomery Scott (‘Janney’), a leading full-service wealth management, financial services and investment banking firm headquartered in Philadelphia, Pa., has announced that 26-year industry veteran Douglas Velnoskey has joined Janney’s Baltimore, Md., branch offices as Senior Vice President/Wealth Management.

Velnoskey, who oversees US$190 million in client assets, will be joined by Financial Advisor Bryan Carney, CFP, Senior Registered Private Client Assistant Coleen Kramer Beal, and Senior Registered Private Client Assistant Brian Etzler to form the Velnoskey Wealth Management Group of Janney Montgomery Scott.

Jerry Lombard, president, Private Client Group, Janney, said: "Adding another high-caliber group to an already well-rounded branch reconfirms the attractiveness of our firm’s ability to deliver the necessary resources for our advisors to maintain a client-centric focus."

Velnoskey joins Janney from Morgan Stanley. Twenty-six years ago, he began his financial services career at Legg Mason where he remained through various mergers. Before he entered the financial services industry, he spent time as a partner in the Colonial Jewelry Company. He attended Loyola College, McDaniel College, and the University of Baltimore with an interdisciplinary concentration in business administration, political science, and communications.

Born and raised in Carroll County, he is an active community member who serves several local organizations like Carroll Hospital Center Foundation, Carroll Lutheran Village Golf Tournament Committee, and the Carroll Community Foundation Investment Committee. He also was a chairman of the Historical Society of Carroll County.

Lombard added: "Since Doug serves both the Baltimore and Westminster areas, the hiring of his team presents a unique opportunity of accessibility to a broader client base. We look forward to the growth that will unfold as a result to their superior industry service."
