Investec Wealth & Investment (IW&I) has appointed Nicholas Jones as its divisional director and head of its Birmingham office.

Nicholas joined IW&I in the role of an investment director following the firm’s acquisition of Williams de Broe (WdB) in 2012 and was promoted to senior investment director in the same year.

At present, he oversees portfolios for private clients primarily based in the Midlands on a discretionary and advisory basis.

In the new role, he will be responsible for growing the Birmingham office’s private client base and its partnerships with financial advisers and other intermediaries.

Jones replaces Adrian Quin, who will now serve as regional head for Midlands and South West and will report to IW&I managing director Tom Street. Quin will succeed Colin Lewis – who is retiring.

Quin, who joined IW&I following the WdB acquisition, will now be responsible for managing the firm’s offices in Bath, Bournemouth, Exeter and Cheltenham and Birmingham.

“Both Nicholas and Adrian have contributed to the substantial development of the Birmingham office and in building our presence in and around the Midlands. I know both will continue to ensure IW&I provides clients with the highest level of service as the firm looks to grow our client base.”
