US-based investment management firm Invesco has appointed Gareth Isaac to the newly created role of EMEA CIO for Invesco Fixed Income (IFI).

Isaac will head the portfolio management and strategic investment thinking of the global macro team in London, as well as represent EMEA on the fixed income’s investment strategy team and work closely with IFI EMEA head Nick Tolchard.

In addition, he will work with investment grade credit, high yield, emerging markets and credit analyst teams to drive product development.

Isaac will report to IFI chief strategist and head of the multi-sector team Rob Waldner.

“Gareth’s credentials in developing and delivering strong investment strategies and his depth of experience in fixed income markets make him the ideal candidate for this role. He is known in the investor and consultant industry as a highly credible and respected investment strategist and we look forward to working together to deliver a superior investment experience for our clients globally,” Tolchard said.

Isaac most recently worked at Schroders, where he held the role of a senior fixed income fund manager for five years.
