ING has appointed Stan Beckers as new CEO of ING Investment Management International replacing Gilbert Van Hassel.

The appointment will become effective 1 July 2013 onwards.

Beckers will report to Lard Friese, member of the Management Board Insurance EurAsia (MBE).

Most recently, Beckers was managing director and co-head of BlackRock Solutions EMEA. He has also served as CEO and CIO of BGI’s Alpha Management Group and CIO of BGI’s European Active Equity Group.

Becker, who has more than 30 years of experience in global finance and asset management, also worked as CIO at WestLB Asset Management and at Kedge Capital.

He was also one of the original partners in Barra, which was eventually acquired by MSCI, where he established and managed the international operations.
