A financial advisory business set up by ex-Rugby player Francois Louw, has joined Sanlam Partnerships, Sanlam’s partnership programme.

RMS Advisory, the IFA founded by Louw, has a specialist sports unit designed to support financial management for professional athletes.

Sanlam Partnerships will offer compliance support and paraplanning to RMS Advisory.

Background on Louw

Louw was a South African rugby team member.

The team beat England to clinch the World Cup in Japan in 2019.

Last year, Louw also qualified as a financial adviser before launching his financial business.

Developments at Sanlam  

Last month, Sanlam UK unveiled its service Sanlam on Demand that provides no obligation, 30-minute virtual financial consultations.

Earlier this year, Sanlam Wealth bolstered its Kent presence by opening an office in Royal Tunbridge Wells.

Last year also remained a busy year for Sanlam with several acquisitions.

Last August, Sanlam UK picked a 55% stake in Avidus Scott Lang.

In April 2019, Sanlam UK snapped up Thesis Asset Management, and Blackett Walker.

In the same month, Sanlam UK entered into an agreement to take over the management of three VAM Global Management discretionary funds.

Last January, Sanlam UK purchased Astute Wealth Management.
