HSBC Asset Management India has appointed Ravi Menon as its chief executive officer. He replaces Puneet Chaddha, who was promoted to head up the South East Asian business of HSBC Global Asset Management in Singapore last November.

Menon’s appointment takes effect from 1 February and he will be reporting to HSBC Asset Management’s Asia-Pacific chief executive, Pedro Bastos.

Welcoming Menon, Bastos said that the company is committed to capitalise on the opportunities presented by "increasing wealth accumulation and diversification in Asia" and will continue to grow its presence.

Menon is currently still serving as the head of strategy and planning for HSBC India. His new responsibilities will include ensuring adherence to HSBC Group’s requirements and regulatory standards in the country.
