Generali Investments has appointed Francesco Martorana as the new head of investments, replacing Anna Khazen who will leave the firm to pursue other opportunities after serving two years in the role.
Martorana joined Generali Group in November 2013 as head of group asset liability management and strategic asset allocation for the general account assets. Previously, he also held management positions at JPMorgan Chase, Deutsche Bank and Allianz.
Martorana will lead a team of 85 investment professionals in Paris, Cologne, Milan and Trieste and will report to Generali Investments CEO Santo Borsellino.
In addition, the firm also appointed Anna Maria Reforgiato Recupero as the head of insurance and liability driven investors’ solutions, a newly created position.
Recupero will work on end-to-end asset management and advisory services for liability driven investors such as insurance firms and pension funds. She will report to Martorana.
Recupero most recently was executive director of investment and saving solutions at Morgan Stanley, and prior to that was executive director of equities and fund derivatives at Goldman Sachs.
Both Martorana and Recupero will be based in Milan in their new roles.
“These appointments go in the direction of strengthening our competencies in insurance asset management and solutions for liability driven investors, which will be pivotal for Generali Investments’ future growth strategy,” Borsellino stated.
