Swiss money manager GAM has appointed Matthew Beesley to the newly created position of head of equities.
Beesley will work with the firm’s equity teams, with responsibility for optimising performance and risk management, strengthening links with sales, marketing and operations, as well as driving information collaboration across teams.

He will be based in London and will assume the new role on 6 March 2017.
Beesley most recently served as the head of global equities at Henderson. He previously also held portfolio manager roles at Trinity Street Asset Management, JP Morgan Asset Management and Mercury Asset Management/Merrill Lynch Investment Managers.
