Franklin Templeton Investments has appointed Jennifer Ockwell as the new head of UK institutional, replacing Jill Barber who quit the firm to join Jupiter Asset Management last year.

Based in London, Ockwell will manage institutional sales and client service for the firm in the UK.

She will take up the new responsibility on 2 July 2018 and will report to the firm’s UK country head Martyn Gilbey.

Ockwell most recently served as the head of UK institutional at Janus Henderson, with responsibility for building relationships with clients, investment consultants and independent advisers representing pension funds, local authorities and charities.

Her financial industry career of over 18 years also includes stints at Threadneedle Investments and Deutsche Asset Management.

At the same time, she formerly worked as a trustee director of the Henderson Group pension scheme.
