He will report directly to Keith Glenfield, head of investment solutions.
Glenfield said: “Alex will be instrumental in enhancing our investment platform, end-to-end, and will aim to deliver a superior experience reinforcing our commitments to open architecture, advice-led model, and client-first approach.”
Kokolis will work across the investment product teams and alongside wealth intelligence and client segment leaders, with the aim of keeping the platform strategy in line with broader priorities across the wealth division.
He joins from MSCI, where he spent six years as global head of the wealth management client segment.
In that post, he oversaw the global strategy and implementation of MSCI’s wealth business, including product development, sales, marketing, technology and operations.
His background in wealth management spans more than 25 years.
At MSCI, he was also involved in shaping and carrying out go-to-market plans across sales and marketing, while working with product leaders on strategic alignment.
Earlier in his career, Kokolis was head of investment product & platform at Wilmington Trust for three years.
Before that, he held a managing director position at UBS in the wealth management advice & platforms product management team for seven years, following several years at Merrill Lynch.
Earlier this month, Citigroup announced the appointment of Adam Clark as wealth planning head.
Clark is replacing Mike Troth, who has been serving in the position on an interim basis. He is scheduled to join Citi in November after completing garden leave and will work from New York.
