California-based RIA EP Wealth Advisors has added a Texas presence by snapping up International Research & Asset Management.
Dallas-based International Research is to strengthen EP Wealth’s investment management and wealth planning capabilities.
The deal, whose value was not divulged, adds over $394m in assets to EP Wealth.
EP Wealth president and CEO Patrick Goshtigian said: “The International Research team has worked diligently to establish a strong presence in Dallas and develop a reputation for executing on their clients’ needs and goals.
“That work ethic and dedication to helping clients is what put this partnership in motion, and as a team, we hope to continue to add to the level of trust they’ve built in the region.”
International Research CEO and principal Brett Anderson will now become the regional director at EP Wealth.
Michael Stillman and Sheri Nelson will also move to EP Wealth as part of the deal.
Anderson noted: “We have built our business on providing our clients with independent, transparent and unbiased financial advice, and as we looked to the future of our business, it was essential that our partner share this philosophy.
“EP Wealth stood out among the competitors as a firm that prioritises its clients and delivers high-quality service.”
EP Wealth has made several purchases in recent years. Last month, the firm acquired Guidant Wealth Advisors.
At the end of December 2019, EP Wealth oversaw more than $6.7bn in assets.
