
EP Wealth Advisors, a registered investment advisor (RIA), has announced a strategic acquisition of Buffington Mohr McNeal (BMM), an RIA firm based in Boise, Idaho.
This deal strengthens EP Wealth’s presence in the Intermountain West region of the US, adding nearly $900m in assets under management.
EP Wealth CEO Ryan Parker said: “When EP Wealth establishes a new region, the most important criterion is to partner with entrepreneurs who share our client-centric, talent-based mindset.
“For nearly 30 years, BMM has put their clients’ needs first and created a culture that rewards long-term career development.”
Founded in 1998 by Dean Buffington, Bruce Mohr, and Carey McNeal, BMM has been providing personalised financial planning for its clients.
Eleven BMM employees, including co-founders Carey McNeal and Bruce Mohr, will join EP Wealth and benefit from the firm’s expanded services and resources.

Kyle Miller, EP Wealth managing director of mergers & acquisitions, facilitated the partnership.

BMM is EP Wealth’s sixth deal of 2025. Hue Partners served as the exclusive financial advisor to BMM.
Financial and legal terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
EP Wealth Advisors, headquartered in Torrance, California, has more than 53 offices across 18 US states.
Managing over $32.6bn in assets as of 31 March 2025, the firm offers a wide range of services, including financial, tax, and estate planning, as well as investment management.
EP Wealth is financially supported by Berkshire Partners, a private investment firm based in Boston.
