Pensions provider Embark Group has snapped up discretionary fund management research business DISCUS for an undisclosed sum.
Established by Gillian Hepburn and Abbie Knight, DISCUS offers content, analysis and insight on discretionary propositions.
The firm will now join Embark’s existing investment research business portfolio that also includes The Adviser Centre and Scopic Research.
“With assistance and additional resources from the Embark Group Discus will continue to deliver quality content, research and events for the financial adviser community focused on this important growth area,” Hepburn noted.
Embark Group CEO Phil Smith said: "Through the acquisition of DISCUS, we are demonstrating our commitment to building a portfolio of investment research and financial intermediary service businesses that add real value to the advice sector.
"Now incorporating The Adviser Centre, Scopic Research and DISCUS, Embark is positioned to deliver an extensive range of research services to financial advisers, covering the full breadth of investment options.”
Embark has acquired a number of business since the last year. It purchased investment research and consultancy business The Adviser Centre from City Financial in October 2016 and in January 2017 bought multi-asset research business Scopic Research.
In February 2016, it snapped up Sipp platform Avalon and before that in July 2016 acquired Sipp provider Rowanmoor.
