EFG International names new head for Continental Europe & Middle East Region

By Verdict Staff

Swiss private bank EFG International has named Patrick Ramsey as the new head of Continental Europe & Middle East Region, which is said to be EFG’s second biggest region in terms of assets under management.

Ramsey, who will also be part of the company’s global business committee, will assume his new role in January next year. He will report directly to EFG CEO Giorgio Pradelli.

Ramsey will replace Adrian Kyriazi, who has held the position since 2018.

Kyriazi will continue to support EFG as a senior adviser in the future, noted the company.

Pradelli said: “I would also like to thank Adrian Kyriazi for his outstanding achievements and commitment over the past years. He has played an integral part in the successful completion of the BSI integration and in transforming EFG into one of the top ten Swiss private banks. I look forward to continuing working with him in his new advisory role.”

Ramsey brings to EFG over 25 years of experience in the wealth management and private banking space.

He most recently worked as the head of wealth management and member of the executive committee at CA Indosuez in Switzerland.

During his career, he also held various senior positions including general manager of Barclays Bank Suisse, country manager Switzerland for Barclays Group and general manager and CEO of Merrill Lynch Bank (Suisse).

Speaking on Ramsey’s appointment, Pradelli said: “I am pleased to announce the appointment of Patrick Ramsey as new Head of our Continental Europe & Middle East Region.

“I am convinced that with his leadership skills and extensive experience in the private banking industry, he will sustain and further accelerate the growth momentum of this strategically important region, strengthening our bank’s competitive market position and driving profitability.”

Earlier this month, EFG announced board and executive committee changes, including the resignation of its chief risk officer.
