Credit Suisse bolsters Latin America team

Swiss banking group Credit Suisse has made several hires to strengthen its operations in Latin America.

The bank appointed Ricardo Castillo as Latin American head of advisory and sales.

Castillo, who joins from JPMorgan, will also be in charge of the bank’s investment consulting team for Argentina, Chile, and Uruguay.

At JPMorgan, Castillo served as the global investment specialist with responsibility for UHNWIs.

In addition, Credit Suisse also hired Marco Pacheco Romero, Andres Martin Cazenave, and Rodrigo Pitre Mendez as senior relationship managers.

Romero and Cazenave previously worked at JPMorgan. Mendez formerly worked at Morgan Stanley.

In August 2018, Credit Suisse further split its international wealth management arm into seven units.

The units are Latin America, Brazil, Western Europe, Southern Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Central and Eastern Europe.

Following the restructure, Marco Abrahão was made in charge of the Brazil business.

Fernández Amann was appointed as head of the remaining Latin America operations.

Lately, Credit Suisse has made several changes to its management team.

Last month, the bank appointed Natt Thanomsat as the head of its wealth management business in Thailand.

In December last year, Eric Kang was appointed as the vice chairman for Southeast Asia at Credit Suisse Private Banking.
