Credit Suisse has named Helene von Roeder as new managing director and CEO for Germany, Austria and Central Europe, effective from September.

Most recently, von Roeder was a member of Morgan Stanley’s Frankfurt-based management board.

In her new role, von Roeder will be responsible for investment banking and private banking and wealth management across the region, reported Financial News.

Additionally, her responsibilities will extend to Poland, the Czech Republic and Hungary.

Based in Frankfurt, she will report to Gaël de Boissard, CEO for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at Credit Suisse, according to the publication.

"von Roeder has proven leadership qualities, an excellent knowledge of the German market and an extensive network of contacts in the Central Europe region. In particular, this appointment underscores the importance of the German market for Credit Suisse," the publication quoted de Boissard as saying.
