British wealth manager Brown Shipley has appointed Richard Stubbs to the newly created role of head of lending.

Based in London, Stubbs will head the business’ focus on growing its lending book. The firm currently offers a range of lending services such as short term credit facilities, bridging loans and overdraft facilities, and longer term credit arrangements including residential and buy-to-let mortgages.

Stubbs, a lending specialist with more than three decades of experience, will be assisted by five lending specialists across the firm’s six offices.

Stubbs most recently served as an executive director at Coutts, where he led a team managing the bank’s ultra high net worth clients within the private office.

Brown Shipley head of private banking Guy Healey said: “We have ambitious growth targets for building our lending book, so I’m pleased to have someone of Richard’s calibre join our team. Moreover, lending is a core part of our overall wealth management offering and deepens our ability to support clients across the full spectrum of their wealth management needs.

“We are also committed to growing our London office and our presence across the South East, and I will be making further additions to the London team in the near future.”
