Miller, who will be based in San Francisco, will report to head of Family Wealth and International Businesses Donald Heberle and will work closely with BNY Mellon teams in California, Washington and Colorado.

Miller, a 12-year veteran in the investment management industry, was a senior vice president and managing director of Wells Fargo Private Bank where he worked with a team of professionals to provide wealth management services to wealthy families, senior corporate executives and closely-held business owners.

Before that, Miller practiced as an attorney at Sidley Austin and Glaser, Weil, Fink, Jacobs, Howard, Avchen & Shapiro, advising high net worth clients on tax-effective estate and business succession planning, trust law and management and asset preservation.

"Comprehensive wealth management services are central to every growing client relationship, especially as clients navigate an increasingly complex investment environment," Heberle said. "Justin strengthens our team of highly seasoned investment experts serving the needs of high net worth individuals, families and businesses."

BNY Mellon Wealth Management has about US$170 billion in private client assets.
