The Bank of New York Mellon (BNY Mellon) has appointed Peter Salvage as new global head of hedge fund services.

Salvage will lead and execute the long-term strategy to drive growth in the company’s hedge fund services business. He will also be responsible for the delivery of comprehensive solutions to the marketplace.

Salvage will report to Chandresh Iyer, who is serving as CEO of BNY Mellon’s Global Alternative Investment Services and Structured Products business.

Prior to joining BNY Mellon, he worked at SS&C Technologies Hedge Fund Services as managing director in London and New York.  Previously, he also served at Citibank in various roles including EMEA head of hedge fund services and global head of single manager hedge fund services.  He also worked at JPMorgan.

Commenting on the appointment, Iyer said: “Peter brings extensive experience in hedge fund middle and back office services, innovation and technology.

“His deep knowledge and track record of results delivering business expansion strategies in the space, and his strong emphasis on understanding hedge fund client needs and innovation, will be critical for BNY Mellon in serving our expanding client base of hedge, credit and hybrid private equity funds.”
