BNP Paribas Asset Management (BNPP AM) has appointed Fabien Madar as the new co-head of distribution for Europe, covering Southern Europe.

Madar will be part of BNPP AM’s worldwide sales and marketing organisation global client group and will be based in Paris.

He will assume the new responsibility next month, and will report to the global head of client group Sandro Pierri.

Madar most recently served as the general manager and head of institutional business in Europe at Pioneer Investments’ French arm before its takeover by Amundi. He also managed Pioneer’s distribution activities in BeNeLux, Switzerland, as well as the Nordics.

He previously also worked at La Compagnie Financiere Edmond de Rothschild, CDC Gestion, and Banque Bruxelles Lambert France (now NN IP).

“We are very pleased to welcome Fabien Madar to BNP Paribas Asset Management. He brings a wealth of experience in the investment management industry, as well as in business development, across regions and client segments. Together with Charles Janssen, Co-Head of Distribution Europe in charge of Northern Europe, they will drive the commercial strategy and be responsible for all business development activities for their respective region, in order to deliver high quality services to our clients and to further improve the overall client experience,” Pierri noted.
