American fund manager Blackrock has named Jan Bratteberg as the new head of the firm’s iShares business in the Nordics.

Bratteberg will replace Geir Espeskog, who moved to Hong Kong as head of iShares distribution for Asia Pacific.

Based in Copenhagen, Bratteberg will be responsible for the iShares’ distribution efforts across the region, contributing to the management and strategy of the wider BlackRock business.

He will report to Peter Beske Nielsen, BlackRock’s country manager for the Nordics and to Fergus Slinger, co-head of iShares sales EMEA.

Previously, Bratteberg worked as co-head of strategy for BlackRock’s Scientific Active Equity team.

Prior to this, he worked at Barclays Global Investors (BGI), which merged with BlackRock in 2009.
