Due to high demand from clients at their Hertfordshire location, Barclays Wealth and Investment Management (WIM) announced it will be opening an office on Marlborough Street in St. Albans. Alexandra Capik reports.

Private bankers and wealth advisers will join the Hertfordshire branch, offering a full range of banking, investment, and wealth advisory services.

Robin Reynolds, regional director for Barclays Wealth and Investment Management in Hertfordshire, expressed the bank’s goal to provide unparalleled and accessible service to its clients. He said: "We will utilise our skills, local knowledge and experience, combined with the depth and breadth of offering of the broader Barclays organisation to advise our clients across a wide range of circumstances: from entrepreneurs looking to take the next step with their business or families seeking support on inheritance and succession planning."

Following the recent announcement of Barclays opening a new WIM office in Southampton, the opening of the Wealth and Investment Management office in St. Albans is an expansion of the bank’s presence as well as priority to serve its clients.

"The decision to invest in a new Wealth and Investment Management team at Upper Marlborough Street is an important one, as it provides an integrated approach for our clients and demonstrates our ongoing commitment for the local economy and wealth in the region," added Ian Taylor, regional director, Luton and Hertfordshire, Corporate Banking at Barclays.
