Bank of America Merrill Lynch has hired Miwa Ohmori as its new Tokyo branch manager, effective 1 August, replacing Tim Latimore.

In his new role, Ohmori will report to Tim Latimore, Bank of America country executive for Japan.

Ohmori, who joined Merrill Lynch Japan in 1995, previously served as CEO of Merrill Lynch & Co.’s private banking joint venture with Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group.

He also worked as vice chairman of Merrill Lynch Japan Securities and served as chief executive of Mitsubishi UFJ Merrill Lynch PB Securities Co. He also previously served as head of structured products at Merrill Lynch Japan.

At the same time, Latimore was named as Bank of America country executive and president of Merrill Lynch Japan Securities.
