A new fund has been launched by Perth-based businessman for wealthy investors wishing to migrate to Australia, Financial Standard reported.

The 888 Fund is primarily aimed at Chinese entrepreneurs and business people who wish to move to Australia under a new investor visa introduced late last year, according to the publication.

The fund can be used by investors looking to settle in any state of Australia, but Garland is particularly targeting the Western Australian, Victorian and New South Wales markets.

Garland believes that attracting SIV applicants to a new life in Australia will deliver a number of significant benefits to the country and the federal government should be doing everything in its power to free up the flow of applicants as soon as possible.

"Our research shows that these are people who typically have assets of between $30 million – $400 million with several in an even higher league. They are highly successful business people who will in time establish businesses here creating employment opportunities across the economic spectrum," the publication quoted him as saying.
