Australia topped the list of millionaire inflows in 2015, with as many as 8,000 millionaires moving to the country, according to New World Wealth’s annual Millionaire Migration report.

Australia was followed by the US (7,000), Canada (5,000) and Israel (4,000) inflows.

Among cities, Sydney recorded the highest inflow (4,000) of millionaires. Other cities that experienced heavy millionaire inflows include Melbourne (3,000), Tel Aviv (2,000), Dubai (2,000), San Francisco (2,000), Vancouver (2,000), Seattle (1,000), and Perth (1,000).

London recorded a net inflow of about 500 millionaires, a low compared to recent years, with nearly 3,000 moving in and 2,500 leaving the city in 2015.

The report revealed that most of the millionaires that left London were UK born while about all of the millionaires that moved into the city were from other countries.

France topped the chart of millionaire outflows with 10,000 outflows in 2015, mainly driven by increasing religious tensions.

France was followed by China that recorded 9,000 millionaire outflows, Italy with 6,000 outflows, and India with 4,000 outflows.

Paris experienced the highest number (7,000) of millionaire outflows among the cities during 2015. It was followed by Rome with 5,000 millionaire outflows, Chicago with 3,000 outflows, and Athens with 2,000 outflows.

The report also stated that the outflows from India and China are not of particular concern as these two countries are producing more new millionaires than they are losing. Wealthy people are also anticipated to come back to these countries once the standard of living improves.
