Astraeus has introduced an AI-focused infrastructure platform for wealth management firms, providing AI systems with the firm-level context required to function within a regulated advisory setting.

The company works with registered investment advisory businesses, wealth technology providers, private equity groups and consulting firms that are updating core systems and developing AI-based operating structures.

To date, Astraeus has raised more than $10m from investors including Fintech Collective, F-Prime, Walkabout Ventures and Plug and Play Ventures.

Co-founders Phill Rosen and Jon Stevenson said they came to the view that AI can change wealth management only if it is based on an understanding of the business in its entirety.

The two previously worked together at MoneyLion. During that time, Stevenson led corporate development and wealth management, while Rosen was global CTO.

Rosen previously founded a fintech company later acquired by MoneyLion. Stevenson has also held senior positions at Stifel Financial, Barclays Wealth and Merrill Lynch.

A central element of the Astraeus platform is its semantic layer and ontology, which the company said map the connections between clients, advisers, accounts, products, fees, policies and regulatory obligations.

According to Astraeus, the platform is intended to work across different AI models rather than depend on a single provider.

The company approach allows firms to apply models suited to particular business tasks while retaining control over data, context, governance and decision-making rules.

Astraeus co-founder and CEO Rosen said: “We built Astraeus to provide a unified infrastructure that understands how a firm actually operates and enables every decision, workflow, and process to benefit from that context.”
