Mitsubishi UFJ Financial ranked first among financial advisers for Asia-Pacific mergers and acquisitions in the first six months of 2026, leading both by total deal value and by number of transactions, according to GlobalData’s latest league table. 

Using figures from its Financial Deals Database, GlobalData said Mitsubishi UFJ Financial advised on 23 transactions with a combined value of $40bn.

In the ranking by value, Morgan Stanley placed second after working on deals totalling $17.6bn. JPMorgan was next with $13.2bn, followed by Jefferies on $12.6bn and UBS on $12.1bn. 

In the ranking by volume, Morgan Stanley also held second place with 17 deals. Diligent Capital followed with 11 transactions, while Deloitte advised on nine and UBS on seven. 

GlobalData lead analyst Aurojyoti Bose commented: “Mitsubishi UFJ Financial registered a significant improvement in the total volume and value of deals advised by it in H1 2026 compared to H1 2025. Resultantly, its ranking by volume jumped from the 16th position in H1 2025 to the top position in H1 2026, and its ranking by value rose from the third position to the top position.  

“During H1 2026, Mitsubishi UFJ Financial advised on four billion-dollar deals* that also included a mega deal valued more than $10 billion. Involvement in these big-ticket deals helped it register a massive jump in terms of value.”
