The transaction integrates Garner into Aprio Wealth Management, a division overseeing approximately $6.1bn in assets under advisement as of 30 September 2026.
The deal marks Aprio’s inaugural standalone wealth management acquisition. It provides the firm with an operational base in the Dallas-Fort Worth area whilst expanding its unified national wealth management platform.
Through the integration, Aprio links wealth management directly with its existing accounting, tax, legal, and advisory practices, targeting clients whose commercial and private financial requirements converge.
Garner was set up in 1998 by Robert Garner. The practice counsels high-net-worth individuals, multigenerational families, retirees, individuals approaching retirement, and clients holding concentrated stock positions.
Under the terms of the transaction, founder and president Robert Garner will become a partner at Aprio.
Aprio Wealth Management CEO Keith Greenwald said: “Like Aprio, Robert and his team believe clients are best served when financial planning and accounting work together. As we grow in Texas, our focus remains on understanding what matters most to our clients and creating greater value for them.”
The deal builds upon Aprio’s initial entry into Texas in December 2023, which occurred through a merger with Ridout Barrett & Co. CPAs & Advisors in Austin and San Antonio.
Since that initial transaction, Aprio has increased its Texas headcount to 150 professionals across offices in Dallas, Austin, Houston, and San Antonio.
Garner is the second RIA folded into Aprio Wealth Management, following the late-2025 addition of Prism Financial Group, an entity advising franchisees, business owners, and high-net-worth individuals across 42 states.
