Switzerland banking and payments industry IT recruitment activity rises 3.2% in June 2021

Switzerland banking and payments industry registered a 3.2% rise in IT hiring activity in June 2021 compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics index.

The industry’s overall hiring an increased by 2.39% in June 2021 compared with May 2021.

Out of the banking and payments industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed an 11.58% share in June 2021, recording an increase of 0.04% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Switzerland banking and payments industry’s IT recruitment activity in June 2021

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 104.15% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Switzerland banking and payments industry in June 2021.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 56.68% in June 2021, a 3.15% drop over the previous month.

2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a 19.59% share, an increase of 10.39% over the previous month.

3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 17.74%, registering a 63.83% rise from May 2021.

4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 6.68%, up 11.54% over the previous month.

Top five banking and payments companies in Switzerland IT recruitment activity in June 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 3.8% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Switzerland banking and payments industry during June 2021 over May 2021.

SIX Group posted 219 IT jobs in June 2021 and registered a flat growth over the previous month, followed by Credit Suisse Group with 49 jobs and a 22.5% growth. Zurich Insurance Group with 22 IT jobs and UBS Group with 21 jobs, recorded a 4.76% growth and a 16.67% increase, respectively, while Swiss Re recorded a 5.56% decline with 17 job postings during June 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 79.72%, up by 1.17% from May 2021. Mid Level positions with a 16.59% share, a growth of 53.19% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 3.23% share, flat growth over May 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.46%, recording a month-on-month an increase of 100%.
