Mexico’s banking and payments industry registered a 1.6% drop in IT hiring activity in August 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The industry’s overall hiring increased by 17.61% in August 2021 when compared with July 2021.
Out of the banking and payments industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 14.33% share in August 2021, recording a decrease of 0.17% over the last three-month average share.
Top five job classifications in Mexico’s banking and payments industry’s IT recruitment activity in August 2021
Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100.2% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Mexico’s banking and payments industry in August 2021.
1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 63.27% in August 2021, registering a 17.88% decline over the previous month.
2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 17.76% share, an increase of 2.3% over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 10.38%, registering a 26.83% rise from July 2021.
4) Computer and Information Research Scientists captured a share of 4.79%, down 7.69% over the previous month.
Top five banking and payments companies in Mexico’s IT recruitment activity in August 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 2.58% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Mexico’s banking and payments industry during August 2021 over July 2021.
Societe Generale posted 319 IT jobs in August 2021 and registered a drop of 12.12% over the previous month, followed by Citigroup with 90 jobs and a 4.65% growth. HSBC with 20 IT jobs and Swiss Re with 16 jobs, recorded a 100% flat growth and a 220% flat growth, respectively, while Arcus Financial Intelligence recorded an increase of 700% with 8 job postings during August 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 63.07%, down by 19.59% from July 2021. Mid Level positions with a 31.54% share, registered an increase of 6.76% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 5.19% share, up 8.33% over July 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.2%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
