Mexico banking and payments industry IT recruitment activity rises 37.1% in June 2021

Mexico banking and payments industry registered a 37.1% rise in IT hiring activity in June 2021 compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics index.

The industry’s overall hiring an increased by 17.45% in June 2021 compared with May 2021.

Out of the banking and payments industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 13.93% share in June 2021, recording an increase of 3.31% over the last three-month average share.

Top five job classifications in Mexico banking and payments industry’s IT recruitment activity in June 2021

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 101.47% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Mexico banking and payments industry in June 2021.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 66.67% in June 2021, an 87.63% growth over the previous month.

2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 15.02% share, an increase of 2.5% over the previous month.

3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 11.72%, registering a 204.76% rise from May 2021.

4) Computer and Information Research Scientists captured a share of 4.21%, up 109.09% over the previous month.

Top five banking and payments companies in Mexico IT recruitment activity in June 2021

The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average growth of 81.14% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Mexico banking and payments industry during June 2021 over May 2021.

Societe Generale posted 340 IT jobs in June 2021 and registered a rise of 51.11% over the previous month, followed by Citigroup with 130 jobs and a 140.74% growth. Nelnet with 19 IT jobs and Citizens Financial Group with 13 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a flat growth, respectively, while The Bank of Nova Scotia recorded a 250% an increase with 7 job postings during June 2021.

Junior Level job postings dominate in June 2021

Junior Level jobs held a share of 65.38%, up by 50% from May 2021. Mid Level positions with a 29.85% share, a growth of 117.33% compared with the previous month.

In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 4.76% share, up 225% over May 2021.
