Barclays has secured approval from the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) to provide targeted support to eligible customers who are starting to invest.

The service is scheduled to launch later this year through a controlled rollout.

Its initial focus will be on helping new investors begin investing.

The approval follows the introduction of other investment-related services and changes by Barclays.

These include planning and advice, as well as the removal of investment fees for direct investing customers.

From June 2026, Barclays removed the monthly customer fee for direct investing.

Customers can hold investments on the platform without paying the fee.

Barclays introduced planning and advice on 30 April 2026 for premier customers with at least £150,000 ($199,425) to invest. The service includes access to dedicated experts, personalised financial planning and ongoing wealth management support.

Barclays Private Bank and Wealth Management UK and Crown Dependencies head Mohammad Syed said: “Many people recognise the importance of investing for their future but are often unsure about what action to take next. Targeted Support has the potential to help bridge that gap by providing customers with more relevant support at key moments in their journey.

“This, alongside the changes we made to Direct Investing earlier this year, shows how we are taking a deliberate and responsible approach to implementation. Our focus is on helping customers make informed decisions, improving financial confidence and ensuring good outcomes over the long term.”

Earlier this month, Barclays launched a private bank booking centre in Singapore, a move aimed at supporting ultra-high-net-worth (UHNW) clients and family offices with cross-border financial needs.
