Lombard Odier Investment Managers (LOIM) has appointed Andrea Argenti as country head for its business in Italy.

Argenti joins from BlackRock Investment Management where he spent the last 14 years and since 2006 was head of retail Italy for that business. Before joining BlackRock in 2000, Argenti was a sales manager at Société Générale Asset Management in Milan and began his career at Alcor, Solvay Group.

He will be based in Milan and report to Hubert Keller, CEO of LOIM and a managing partner of Lombard Odier.

"Italy is a key market for LOIM in which we have built a strong range of solutions that appeal to our broad network of distributors," said Mr Keller. "We’re delighted that Andrea has agreed to join us and I’m confident he will help us build on this foundation."

LOIM, the Lombard Odier Group’s asset management unit, managed CHF47.8 billion ($50.5bn) on behalf of clients at the end of June 2014.
