UK-based fund manager J O Hambro Capital Management (JOHCM), part of Australia-listed Pendal Group, has named Nick Good as the CEO for its US business.

Good joins from State Street, where he latterly served as the executive vice president, chief growth and strategy officer.

He also served as the co-head of State Street Global Advisors Global ETF Business. In this role, he focused on North America and Latin America regions.

Assets at the Global ETF business are said to have surged by 50% during Good’s leadership.

He also had stints at Blackrock, where he led the iShares ETF business in Asia-Pacific, as well as at Boston Consulting Group.

Good will take on the new responsibility on 2 December 2019 and sit on the Pendal Group global executive committee.

He will operate out of Boston and report to Pendal Group CEO Emilio Gonzalez.

Gonzalez called the US its “key growth engine”.

Gonzalez noted: “Building on our success to date we believe there are significant opportunities to continue to materially grow our funds under management in the region.

“Nick’s leadership and success with leading global asset managers made him the prime candidate to lead our business in the US. He is recognised for his achievements in building and growing successful businesses, his deep knowledge of the market, and track record of delivering results.”

The development comes shortly after the appointment of Alexandra Altinger as the CEO for JOHCM’s UK, Europe & Asia operations.
