Rayner Spencer Mills Research (RSMR), a research and ratings group, has rolled out a new service, called Rfolios, which offers advisers seven model portfolios comprising a range of active funds, all rated by the firm.

The service, aimed at authorised small advisory firms, will cost advisers a flat fee of £240 per month, according to Investment Week.

RSMR will review the portfolios every six months and will alert advisers of any changes made.

The portfolios are intended to match an adviser’s existing risk profiling approach, director Geoff Mills said, and come with guidance to help advisers when they are discussing suitability, risk and capacity for loss with their clients.

Mills added that the new range intends to bridge a gap in the market for small advisers, who want to outsource the managing of portfolios but consider most options "too expensive".
