Standard Life Investments has appointed John Devine in the role of its new non-executive chairman, with immediate effect.
In the new role, Devine will replace John Paynter, who is stepping down for health issues.

Paynter served in the position of non-executive chairman since 2012. Between 2005 and 2008, he served as vice chairman of JP Morgan Cazenove.
Devine, a former global chief operating officer at Threadneedle Investments, has been in the position of a non-executive director at Standard Life Investments since 2012.
Additionally, Standard Life has named Crawford Gillies as senior independent director until 2016.
