Allianz Global Investors (AllianzGI), the asset management arm of German insurer Allianz, has appointed Douglas Eu as its new CEO for the US.
Eu – currently AllianzGI’s Asia Pacific CEO – will replace Brian Gaffney, who is set to retire at the end of this year.

Prior to joining AllianzGI in 2006, Eu served at JF Asset Management for 19 years.
AllianzGI global CEO Elizabeth Corley said in a statement: "Doug is a natural choice to take over leadership of AllianzGI in the US given his knowledge of and experience with the US market combined with his track record of successfully growing our business in Asia Pacific by leveraging the breadth of the firm’s global capabilities to meet clients’ distinct needs."
