The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) of UK has appointed Mark Steward as new director of enforcement and market oversight and Barbara Frohn as new director of risk and compliance oversight.

Steward currently serves as an executive director of the enforcement unit at the Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission (SFC).

Since 1987, Steward worked in corporate and securities regulation in Australia as well as in the UK, where he focused on investigatory work and resulting litigation.

Prior to joining SFC, he held various senior roles with the Australian Securities and Investments Commission (ASIC), most recently as its deputy executive director, enforcement.

Frohn, a specialist in risk and regulatory matters, presently holds the position of managing director public policy at Santander US.

Besides, she is seconded to the Institute of International Finance in Washington, D.C.

Frohn also had a stint at ABN AMRO between 1995 and 2008, where he held several senior roles including senior vice president, head of basel II requirements.

Moreover, she served as official advisor to the European Parliament for four years.

Steward and Frohn are slated to assume their new roles at FCA at the end of the year, and will be based in London.
