Vontobel Wealth Management Asia Pacific, a division of Swiss lender Vontobel, has named Michael Haupt as its new chief operating officer (COO).
In his new role, Haupt will be tasked with supporting the firm’s business strategy for the region. He will be based in Hong Kong.

Haupt has experience in direct advisory of UHNWI clients as well as relationship managers.
He served at Vontobel’s private banking arm in Switzerland, where he managed private market investments.
Additionally, the firm has also appointed Steven Ng as investment advisor.
He will be responsible for supporting the local relationship managers to advise clients on investment outlook, strategies, asset allocation, and asset acquisition, as well as will be involved in product offering and implementation of advisory mandates.

Steven Ng previously served at Robeco Hong Kong and HSBC, where he managed funds and private equity distribution in Hong Kong and Singapore.
He also had stints in senior sales positions at Standard Chartered Bank (Hong Kong), DBS Bank (Hong Kong) and Citibank.
