British wealth manager Mattioli Woods is planning to build a new headquarters in Leicester.

The new development is expected to create more than 150 new job opportunities.

The new site will include two buildings based around a central public open area on New Walk, combining office space, apartments as well as retail space.The office complex will be built on the site of the former Leicester City Council New Walk headquarters.

The new office will include an area of about 60,000 square feet feet office, and will be designed to accommodate over 600 people.

The company will invest £14.6m for funding the project, which is still subject to planning approval.

Construction work is scheduled to start at the end of 2015, with occupation scheduled by early 2017. Currently, Mattioli Woods employs more than 300 staff out of the existing Leicester offices.
