UBS has inked an agreement with the National University of Taiwan (NTU) to launch a youth talent program to create skilled manpower for financial services industry.

The new NTU-UBS Youth Talent Program will run for five months covering areas such as asset management, international economics, investment banking as well as wealth management.

UBS Asset Management head of Taiwan Hsin Chiao said: "At UBS, we are passionate about supporting the communities in which we live and work. Apart from the benefits that will accrue to the students, the program will help UBS enhance staff engagement and bolster our ongoing commitment to corporate social responsibility."

The three-year sponsorship project is expected to start next month and will target 100 second and third year students in the university’s economics department. It will be supported by UBS senior management members.

NTU department chair and professor of economics Ming-Jen Lin said: "We are delighted to enter into a partnership with one of the world's leading providers of financial services. The program promises to bring the highest international standards and insight to the brightest young talent in Taiwan."
