Swiss banking giant Credit Suisse has named John Woods as new chief investment officer Asia Pacific for private banking & wealth management.

Based in Hong Kong, Woods will report to Nannette Hechler-Fayd’herbe, global head of investment strategy, investment strategy and research.

Woods will oversee the development of Credit Suisse private banking & wealth management’s regional investment views across and within asset classes.

In addition, he will contribute to the development of consistent discretionary and advisory strategies for the bank’s private and institutional clients in Asia Pacific and will also serve as a member of the bank’s Global Investment Committee.

Prior to joining Credit Suisse, Woods worked with Citi Investment Management as head of fixed income Asia Pacific and also as chief investment strategist for Asia Pacific at Citi Private Bank.

Prior to that, he has held senior roles with HSBC in the UK and Hong Kong, including as global head of credit research and strategy.
