Porte Brown, a Chicago-based accounting and consulting firm, has acquired CPA firm Alliant Advisors, which has offices in Barrington, Huntley, Wauconda and Lake Geneva.

Alliant Advisors will operate under the Porte Brown name in their current locations and will combine into the Porte Brown McHenry office by the end of 2015.

Alliant Advisors offers financial, strategic, and business operations expertise to private business. Its consulting services include accounting, tax, business advisory, business valuations, and exit planning.

Financial terms of the transaction, which is effective 1 November 2015, were not disclosed.

Commenting on the deal, Porte Brown managing partner Bruce Jones said: "Porte Brown is entrepreneurial in nature and always looking for smart growth opportunities.

"Alliant Advisors’ commitment to helping clients accomplish their goals reflects our objective when we established Porte Brown almost 70 years ago."
