Manulife Asset Management has hired Wendy Lim as new chief executive for Singapore, subject to the approval of the Monetary Authority of Singapore.

In her new role, Lim will reports to Michael Dommermuth, head of Wealth and Asset Management, Asia for Manulife Asset Management.

Lim will be responsible for the growth of Manulife AM’s wealth and asset management business.

In addition, she will work with life insurance and distribution partners to develop the firm’s mutual fund, pension and investment-linked insurance solutions for the Singapore market.

Lim joined Manulife from BNY Mellon Investment Management, where she was most recently CEO and managing director of business development and marketing for its Asia Pacific division. She has 24 years of experience in the financial services industry in Singapore and across the Asia Pacific region.

Additionally, Manulife has appointed Bonnie Lam as head of partnership development for its wealth and asset management arm in Hong Kong.

In his new role, Lam will facilitate investor access to Manulife’s wealth and asset management solutions by building and supporting strong relationships with new and existing third-party distributors in the market.

Lam will report to Bruno Lee, head of partnership, product and platform development, Manulife Asset Management, Asia.

Prior to joining Manulife, Lam worked at HSBC Global Aset Management in Hong Kong for 15 years, including six years as regional head of wholesale business.
