Baird, an employee-owned, wealth management firm, has completed the acquisition of Colorado-based investment manager Chautauqua Capital Management.

Following the acquisition, which was initially announced in November 2015, the investment team of Chautauqua Capital has joined the Baird as equity owners in the business.

The deal will see Chautauqua Capital operating under the Chautauqua Capital Management name and becoming a subsidiary of Baird Investment Management, Baird’s institutional equity asset management business.

Chautauqua Capital, which is led by CIO Brian Beitner, offers two strategies International Growth Equities and Global Growth Equities.

Baird chairman Paul Purcell said: "The ability to best serve our clients in a global economy has never been more important, and building out the capabilities of our Asset Management business is one of our top strategic priorities."

Commenting on the acquisition, Chautauqua Capital CIO Brian Beitner said: "They recognized that Baird’s back office services and support allows us to focus solely on the performance of our time-tested strategies."
